The 5 Step Video Production Process

The production process is not that tough as you think! All you have to do is – follow the below five steps and you can be assured that you are not missing out any key steps. No matter whatever size of your business is- this is a proven production process for the success of business video marketing.

1. Explore

This includes everything from brainstorming, briefing, brainstorming, planning to concept development, making sure that before pre-production, everybody is on the same page. To be clearer, basically, it’s an understanding exactly what are the goals of a client, what he wants to achieve with his video, what is his USP and who is the video aimed at?

It’s quite similar to project management in the sense of you’ll be looking at the timeline, plans, budget, and ideas. Either you are making a simple sales video or a huge feature film for your business, it’s important to go through these stages.

2. Pre-Production

This step needs your creativity which includes visual planning, story boarding, crafting scripts, investing the best locations etc. It’s really the basis of your build. You may require additional voice overs, hair stylists, photographers or make-up artists, this is the perfect time to source additional help. Hence, the pre-production is quite simply preparing everything needed in order to have a successful video.

Another important thing which needs to be considered is set a timeline. Set your target what needs to be done, when you want to get the filming completed, the final editing, ready to go online etc.

3. Production

The third step is production, all the work you have done come together till date like visual planning, scripts etc. You are now all set to start the filming, commission your voice-over artist or start the animation process.

Production the phase where all the energy and time spent in the pre-production and discovery turns into something special. Shooting for everything you have planned, we suggest shooting extra elements if you can. It’s always great to have a bank of footage and there’s no such thing as too much footage.

4. Post-Production

This is the phase where the magic happens and all the hard work of yours comes together. So, editing the motion graphics, animation, the voice over, music research or editing might be done beforehand. But whatever has been shot need editing too. Make a schedule for the editing process which may include the rough cut, second edit, and final cut.

Editing can take anything from 1-3 weeks to be completed. It’s important to note that sometimes it could take more than three cuts to get a project perfect sometimes.

5. Distribution

The final and last stage of the process, bringing your video in front of the people! Which channels and platforms you want to target? Your website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other social channels, the video will need to be edited to these specifications too. Also, keep in mind the format, lengths of video etc.
So there you have it, we really hope you found this useful and enhance your business video marketing.
